Adv/Disadv AWD vs RWD?

Any differences in mileage? Other pros/cons? I live in TX and have zero use for the AWD, but having difficulty finding a blk FX with touring and technology packages...found an AWD one today, so thought I'd pose the question.

For the area you live in, the only place where you would really notice the AWD system working is if you do any sort of driving on gravel or sand. Other than that, it will be for the most part, transparent.
